Sporting index Review

Sporting Index originally began as a spread betting company, though they have since evolved and now offer traditional fixed odds betting alongside their spread markets. Founded in 1992, they moved online in 2001, so have been around for many years.

More recently though, they have expanded and turned towards traditional fixed odds betting, in the hope of attracting more customers to their website. Here we take a look at their service, focusing mainly on their fixed odds sportsbook.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Two welcome bonuses to choose from – sportsbook & spread betting
  • Mobile app available to download
  • Huge sportsbook, covering many niche sports and leagues
  • No sports welcome offer

Cons

  • Sportsbook odds are no better than average

Our Experience of Sporting Index

The first thing to mention about Sporting Index, which some may be worried about, is that the fixed odds betting and spread betting options are completely separate of each other. At the top of the page, look for the options ‘spreads’ and ‘odds’, here is where you choose how to bet.

If you want to use the sportsbook and are worried about seeing the spreads because of potential confusion, don’t, you won’t see these on the site unless you want to.

In terms of site navigation, this is also a positive, with sports and competitions very easy to find. What we did really like was that on the site you will see a section that shows upcoming big games, including those that are on TV in the UK and what channel they are on. This is perfect if you have missed something and happen to be on the site.

If you are in a rush or looking to bet in play, you can see the live games or those taking place soon with just one click after choosing your sport. We know a lot of people will find this useful as they quickly try to get their bets on.

Sports & Markets Available

You will find an excellent range of sports on the Sporting Index sportsbook, which is really good to see. When you think that this site was originally focused on spread betting, they would be forgiven for not having a sportsbook as deep as the one they have.

However, they really have pulled it out of the bag here, and if you are a person who bets on small, niche sports, you are likely to be able to bet on them here. Of course, the major sports are covered, and the bigger the sports, the more betting opportunities and markets are available.

Their coverage is a real highlight of the service.

Sporting Index Mobile Gaming

With mobile gaming becoming more important for users, it is great to see that Sporting Index have an app available for both iOS and Android devices. If you intend to bet on your mobile regularly, the app is what you need to have, it will give you quick and easy access to the available betting opportunities.

However, you don’t have to use the app if you don’t want to, you can log onto the mobile version of their site. If you don’t want something on your phone, or just the odd mobile bet, this may be the best option for you.

Summary

Sporting Index have added a very impressive sportsbook to their spread betting service, and if you only want one of these then the good news is that they are completely separate of each other on the site.

A nice welcome bonus awaits, mobile gaming is available and a simple, easy to navigate site is on hand for players. This is a very experienced gambling company and they have put together an excellent sportsbook.
