Hateley: I’d warn Kolo Muani away from Man Utd; it could be his downfall - (interview for Newbettingsites.uk)

Former England and Premier League striker Mark Hateley has told NewBettingSites.uk that he would caution any player against signing for Manchester United.
Hateley told NewBettingSites.uk: “I warn any player against going to Manchester United at the moment. I don’t think there’s any stability or balance on or off the pitch there. You can sense what you’re seeing on the pitch match up with what’s going on off the pitch within the structure of the club. It seems like it’s a work in progress.
“Ruben Amorim’s system is his way or the highway. If someone like Randal Kolo Muani - who has been linked with United - were to go, it could be the downfall of him.
“Amorim can learn something from a manager like Ange Postecoglou, I love the way Postecoglou plays football. He’s been true to himself and you need to be able to tinker and change within the game. When Tottenham played Bournemouth, they played five at the back, three at the back and four at the back within the space of 20 minutes! It was pretty impressive to see, just to rile up the opponent.
“It's difficult for Amorim right now, especially with a new investor in Jim Ratcliffe who is a businessman. They require things to work pretty quickly. United supporters are like Rangers supporters - they expect the club to be on the front foot all the time.”
United made a huge mistake letting go of McTominay
Hateley praised Scott McTominay for having the courage to move away from Manchester United, stating the Red Devils made a mistake in selling the Scotsman.
He added: “I think Manchester United made a huge mistake letting Scott McTominay go. He was one of those young players that came into the side and the manager didn’t know where to play him, whether it be at the back, in midfield, higher up or out wide. He was in one of those categories where the manager just wanted to shoehorn him in somewhere to get him some playing time wherever it may be, and that was his situation at United.
“Clearly when he plays for Scotland, it’s either he’s deep, or on the front foot. He does both so well – Bryan Robson was the same. He can get up and down the pitch and score goals. He’s now exploiting his natural talent in Serie A.
“I always tell young players that if they can’t get playing time wherever they are, they need to get out of their comfort zone and go somewhere that you’ll get lots of minutes. You need to test the waters in a different setup.
“I’d love to see McTominay back in the Premier League. He’s done what Lewis Ferguson has done at Bologna - it looks to have been a breath of fresh air for him leaving United. You learn so much as a young player working alongside different players in a new setup, and that’s what McTominay has done at Napoli. He will now reap the rewards because of that, as many of the top teams would love to take him now.”
